By submitting your photographs, you help tell the story of the communities that make our region special while retaining ownership of your work.
Colorado River Connect is proud to feature photography that captures the landscapes, communities, businesses, events, and experiences that make our region unique. We welcome submissions from local photographers, businesses, residents, and visitors who want to help tell our region’s story.
These Photo Submission Terms explain how submitted photographs may be reviewed, credited, published, and used by Colorado River Connect. By submitting photos through our website, you agree to the terms outlined below
Colorado River Connect will never sell your photographs or transfer ownership of your copyrighted work.

1. Ownership of Your Photography
You retain full ownership and copyright of every photograph you submit to Colorado River Connect.
Submitting your images does not transfer ownership to Colorado River Connect. We respect the rights of photographers and believe creators should continue to own their work.
You represent and warrant that you are the creator of the submitted images or have the legal authority to submit them for publication.
2. License to Colorado River Connect
By submitting photographs, you grant Colorado River Connect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to review, publish, display, reproduce, resize, optimize, and promote approved images across our platform.
This license allows Colorado River Connect to use approved photographs on:
- Community pages
- State pages
- Business listings
- Articles and blog posts
- Event pages
- Landing pages
- Social media
- Email newsletters
- Marketing materials
- Future Colorado River Connect promotional content
Because this license is non-exclusive, you remain free to sell, license, publish, or use your photographs anywhere else.
3. Photographer Credit
Whenever reasonably possible, Colorado River Connect will provide photographer attribution for published images.
Photographer credit may include:
- Your name
- Business or studio name
- Website
- Social media profile
- Colorado River Connect photographer profile
While we strive to include attribution wherever practical, certain layouts, promotional graphics, or technical limitations may not allow visible credit in every instance.
4. Photo Review Process
Every submission is reviewed before publication.
Colorado River Connect reserves the right to approve, decline, edit, crop, resize, or optimize submitted photographs for quality, consistency, accessibility, or website performance.
Submission of photographs does not guarantee publication.
5. Acceptable Photography
We encourage photographs that showcase the Colorado River region, including:
- Local communities
- Landscapes
- Colorado River recreation
- Parks
- Trails
- Wildlife
- Downtown areas
- Historic locations
- Community events
- Local businesses
- Restaurants
- Attractions
- Seasonal scenery
- Arts and culture
Images should be high quality, accurately represent the location, and contribute positively to the Colorado River Connect community.
6. Prohibited Content
The following types of submissions may be rejected:
- Copyrighted material you do not own
- Images containing offensive or illegal content
- Misleading or manipulated photographs intended to deceive
- Excessive advertising or promotional graphics
- Watermarked images that you do not own the rights to distribute
- Images that violate another person’s privacy
- Content that infringes on trademarks or intellectual property rights
Colorado River Connect reserves the sole discretion to determine whether submitted content meets our publication standards.
7. People, Property & Permissions
If a submitted photograph contains recognizable individuals, private property, artwork, or other protected content, you represent that you have obtained any permissions required by applicable law.
Colorado River Connect is not responsible for obtaining model releases or property permissions on behalf of contributors.
8. Image Modifications
To improve user experience and maintain visual consistency, Colorado River Connect may:
- Resize photographs
- Crop images
- Compress files
- Adjust formatting
- Optimize images for web performance
- Create responsive versions
- Generate thumbnails
Colorado River Connect will not intentionally alter the artistic integrity of your work.
9. Removal Requests
If you would like Colorado River Connect to stop using one of your photographs, please contact us.
We will review your request and, when reasonably possible, remove future uses of the image from our website and marketing materials.
Previously published printed materials, archived content, or distributed marketing materials may not be removable.
10. Voluntary Contributions
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, photographs are submitted voluntarily.
Submission does not create an employment relationship, partnership, or entitlement to financial compensation.
The primary benefit of participation is photographer recognition, attribution, and exposure through Colorado River Connect.
11.Limitation of Liability
Colorado River Connect makes no guarantees regarding publication, placement, duration of display, website traffic, or promotional exposure.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Colorado River Connect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from submitted content or participation in the Community Contributor Program.
11.Changes to These Terms
Colorado River Connect may update these Photo Submission Terms from time to time.
Updated versions become effective immediately upon publication on this page.
Contributors are encouraged to review these terms periodically.
